About Us
GCESS is registered as a non-profitable organization which focuses on transforming the lives of generations of girls in South Sudan. GCESS programs seeks to expand educational opportunities for a girl Child including women in South Sudan. The Education System in South Sudan as the newest Country in the World has been affected by ongoing conflict in the Country since the first civil war in 1983 ( ). In the process of the longer civil war between North and south, the education system was alternated into Arabic language by the Arab regime while South Sudan which was under the SPLA was operating in English creating divisions among the civil population.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to implement evidence-based, culturally sensitive, innovation projects promoting quality education, according to perceived general education needs and priorities as understood through quality research and effective partnership enhancement

Vision

Our vision is to provide interventions and lifestyle changes, which have potential to attain better education for all girls and women in South Sudan.

Goal

Our goal is to impact over 250,000 girls and young mothers with change brought about by access to education and to influence over 1,000,000 other lives through their influence, knowledge transfer, and community programs.

Strategy

A sustainable strategy is devised to achieve the maximum, a need based and right based approach initiates the problem with fully community involvement and mobilizing all indigenous and local resources. The program goal is materialized with a helping hand from members, donor agencies and the community leaders.

Our approach

We believe that nurturing and caring for children especially- a girl child in the community is the cornerstone of human progress. Education is a fundamental Human right, protected in the Universal declaration of Human and the united nation convention on the right of the child. Therefore, our goal is to ensure that every girl in South Sudan has access to quality education so that they can have more chances in life. GCESS will work with a wide variety of partners and stakeholders including governmental and non-governmental organizations, research institutions, community groups, and the private sector.

GCESS promotes inclusive access to quality education for girls through enrollment support, mentorship, and provision of learning materials. The program strengthens literacy, numeracy, and life skills while addressing cultural barriers through active community engagement.

GCESS improves community health through access to safe water, sanitation facilities, and hygiene promotion initiatives. The program supports schools and communities with clean environments and awareness to prevent disease and improve well-being.

Women Empowerment

GCESS empowers women through vocational training, leadership development, and support for sustainable income-generating activities. The program promotes gender equality and strengthens women’s participation in decision-making within their communities.

Emergency Response

GCESS provides timely humanitarian assistance including food, shelter, and hygiene supplies to affected populations. The program also offers psychosocial support and works with partners to ensure effective emergency response services.

Free Legal Aid and Education

GCESS offers free legal support and raises awareness on rights, justice systems, and protection mechanisms for vulnerable groups. The program provides counseling, referrals, and community education to strengthen access to justice and human rights protection.

Gender Base Violent (GBV)

GCESS addresses gender-based violence through prevention programs, survivor support services, and community awareness campaigns. The program creates safe spaces and engages leaders to challenge harmful practices and promote gender equality.
